SAMSUNG # DITCHtheDSLR
Goal: Samsung wanted to get consumers to ditch their own DSLR cameras in favor if its new and innovative NX cameras.
Solution: At the PIX Expo in Seattle, Samsung activated their campaign dubbed #DITCHtheDSLR, in which PIX attendees could swap out an old DSLR camera for a new Samsung NX500.
Technology: Radiant was enlisted by Samsung to join the experience, and we came bearing GIFs—an animated GIF interactive in which attendees appeared to be detonating a pile of DSLR cameras. When the cameras exploded, in their place was a Samsung NX500 camera.
The Experience: Attendees stepped up to a Samsung branded TNT detonator, next to a pile of DSLR cameras that were super-imposed onto a prop boulder. Upon pushing down the plunger on the detonator, the pile of DSLR cameras was seen to explode, leaving in their place the Samsung NX500 camera. The resulting animated GIFs were displayed on a nearby Samsung UHD monitor. To receive their GIF via email, participants entered their email address on a Samsung tablet. Seconds later, they received a branded email with the GIF. Social media share links within the email allowed them to amplify their GIF directly across social media networks. (Media representatives, bloggers and other influencers were invited to participate, adding extra exposure to the effort.)
Courtyard by Marriott at NYC ComicCon
Goal: The hotel brand wanted to create a fun and shareable experience on the show floor at NYC ComicCon.
Solution: NYC ComicCon producer ReedPOP created an interactive dancing game in the middle of the popular event. A stage was set up in the heart of the show floor. Attendees were invited to take a turn playing popular video game “Just Dance.”
Technology: While the attendees showed off their best moves, Radiant captured video snippets of each group’s interaction. When they left the stage, they were invited to view thumbnails of their “performances” on share tablets—then enter their email address to receive and share the video seconds later.
AND ONLY RADIANT'S VIRTUACAST OFFERS HOLOGRAMBASED PHOTO AND VIDEO ACTIVATION SOLUTIONS FOR ANY EVENT CAMPAIGN
Say goodbye to green screen forever! Virtuacast takes photo and videoactivation to an entirely new dimension. This patented technology creates the illusion of life size holograms that consumers can view and interact with, then share the resulting video or photo via social media.
The setup is easy—the system consists of a special mat that is set on the ground and an accompanying mobile app. The Virtuacast hologram (an actor, a pop star or an animated character, anyone or anything) appears wherever the special mat is placed in view of the mobile device's camera. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination.
AT&T, Samsung, Allstate, NatGeo, Mondelez, Coca-Cola, GMC, American Express, Advil, Nathan’s, United Airlines, Xbox, Rolling Stone.
